Presentation

Canadian born saint who in 1701 came into the world on this site here on the shores of the St. Lawrence river. A video portrays her life and her works. In a stained glass adorned building, you can follow in the steps of St. Marguerite via artifacts, costumes and archival documents. Although her career was plagued by misfortunes and marked by fires, it gives witness to her unshakable faith in God and His Divine Providence. A tomb dedicated to her in a little chapel is located on site in the richly decorated Sainte-Anne de Varennes Basilica. The parish, being exceptionally rich in religious heritage also invites you to discover the nearby historic votive chapels and a majestic Calvary.
