Presentation
Inaugurated in 1957, the Saint-Michel Basilica-Cathedral stands proudly in the city of Sherbrooke. Its Gothic-inspired majestic arches and ogival windows are the work of architect Louis-Napoléon Audet, who designed several churches including the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré. The Basilica-Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, patron saint of police officers and soldiers. Many works of art can be admired there, including the magnificent stained glass windows above the nave and the choir. On site, visitors can also see the shrine of Blessed Marie-Léonie Paradis or the private chapel of the archbishopric.
