The Centre d’interprétation du patrimoine religieux (religious heritage interpretation centre) presents a fascinating permanent exhibition. More than 1,500 religious objects and vestments are showcased in themes and placed in the galleries of the St. Alphonse Church, the largest in the Quebec diocese. Built in the heart of the Thetford Mines downtown area, the St. Alphonse Church is considered an architectural masterpiece. Among its most important collections is the impressive collection of 426 rosaries donated by Mr. Roland Ricard, a rosary maker. Also noteworthy is the collection of wax Jesus figures (over 50) donated by Mrs. Lina Côté. An exhibition of devotional objects is also on display in the church basement and spans 100 years of religious history. Visit to discover this rich heritage.
