Presentation

The Pôle culturel du Monastère des Ursulines is located in the inspiring setting where the Ursuline Monastery was founded in New France and where the first school for girls in North America was also founded. It showcases the exceptional heritage of the Ursuline nuns and the essential role they played in education in Quebec for close to 400 years. Located in the heart of Old Québec City, this monastery is one of the city’s oldest and most well-preserved buildings. The Museum presents exhibitions highlighting collections with a significance that goes beyond their religious aspects. The chapel decorated with wood sculptures and gold leaf is an ideal place for quiet contemplation. The oratory of Marie de l’incarnation and the 17th- and 18th-century works of art are some of the must-sees at this sanctuary. Check out the package deals available when planning your visit.
