Presentation

The Sanctuaire Notre-Dame de Rocamadour is a history-rich shrine located inside Église St-Fidèle, in the heart of the Limoilou district of Québec City. This site has a little-known past connected to the explorer Jacques Cartier: his stay on the St. Charles River, his crew and the illness they faced, his encounters with Indigenous peoples, and his devotion to the Black Madonna of Rocamadour. Visiting Sanctuaire Notre-Dame de Rocamadour is a journey into history and heritage, a chance to admire breathtaking architecture and an encounter with spirituality. It’s a place to pause, reflect and fully experience a story that belongs to all of us.
